Direct Debit

What is a direct debit?

An arrangement you make with a third party (usually your bank) to withdraw an amount of money directly from your bank account/credit card. The bank will then forward this amount of money to another institution on your behalf.

What are the benefits of using direct debit to make payments to my GE Money contract?

Once you set up your direct debit, there is virtually nothing else that you need to do (other than ensuring the appropriate amount of money is available in your nominated bank/credit account). Payments are automatically sent to us from your bank.

Note: Your financial institution may charge you a dishonour fee if you don't have enough funds in your account at the time that the direct debit is due to be withdrawn. Please refer to your financial institution for more information on this charge.

  • You will not have to write out cheques and having to post them to us in time for your monthly payment
  • There are no GE Money fees associated with the setting up or maintenance of a direct debit
  • Since fees often apply for late payments, direct debits are automatic payments which are useful for busy people, who may forget to make their payment on time each month
  • Direct debit makes it unnecessary to visit a bank or post office
