What are my obligations regarding Vehicle Insurance?

During the term of the agreement we require that the vehicle is fully comprehensively insured. You can finance this Insurance if you wish and include the premiums in your standard payments. This can take the worry out of insuring your vehicle and allows for one easy monthly payment.

If I lease a vehicle, what happens at the end of the leasing period?

Under the terms of a Lease Agreement you are effectively renting the vehicle from GE Money Auto for the duration of the agreement with no obligation or right to purchase the vehicle at the end of the term. Prior to the commencement of the agreement a 'Residual Value' is determined, largely based on the length of the rental period and the type of vehicle required. At the end of the Lease you may do one of three things:

What fees and charges are applicable?

Full details of the fees and charges applicable to a GE Money Motor Loan are outlined in the Terms & Conditions document you will receive prior to signing your contract. If you have questions ahead of applying, please contact GE Money on 1300 137 759.



What do I do if I cannot afford to make my repayments?

If you are having difficulty making your minimum monthly repayments please talk to us. GE has a hardship policy which may allow us to tailor a solution to your situation.  Please refer to GE’s hardship page for more details.



I have received a ‘Form 16 Notice of Right to Cancel Mortgaged Property Insurance’ (i.e. Vehicle Insurance), what does this mean?

This notice advises you that your contract with GE Money has been finalised and you are now able to terminate your insurance contract over the mortgaged goods, should you wish to do so.



If I have paid out my loan, when will GE Money remove their interest over my vehicle?

GE Money will remove their interest over your vehicle five days from the date your account is finalised.



Will I receive a statement from GE Money?

If you would like a ‘Statement of Account’ please contact our Customer Service team on 1300 137 759 (Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5 pm AEST) and we will arrange to post or fax one to you Please note that fees may be applicable.



Do I get issued a Paid in Full letter once my account has been finalised?

If you would like a Paid in Full letter this can be issued
by contacting our Customer Service team on 1300 137 759 (Monday  to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm AEST) or alternatively you can email us at customersolutions.motor@ge.com



Can GE Money provide me with a reference letter about my payment history?

Unfortunately GE Money does not provide reference letters however can issue a Statement of Account upon request.  As described above, GE Money will arrange to post or fax it to you and fees may apply.



How can I change my name on my account?

You can change your name on your GE Money account by faxing your request along with the appropriate supporting documentation.  Alternatively you can email your request and supporting documentation to customersolutions.motor@ge.com  Please contact Customer Service to confirm appropriate supporting documentation required.



How can I change my contact details on my account?

To update your contact details please contact our Customer Service team on 1300 137 759 (Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm AEST)  or alternatively email us at customersolutions. motor@ge.com



If I’ve overpaid my car loan, how long will it take for me to receive a refund?

Your refund will be processed within 10 days of GE Money receiving your final payment.



Can I transfer my GE Money loan to someone who is willing to buy my car?

Unfortunately we cannot transfer your loan to someone who wants to purchase your car.  The purchaser will need to arrange a loan in their own name.



Can GE Money refinance my car loan?

Can GE Money refinance the residual/balloon payment on my existing loan?

Can I sell my vehicle before I have paid out GE Money?

GE Automotive Financial Services holds interest over the vehicle until your account is finalized.  Full and final payment will need to be received and cleared prior to GE removing its interest over the vehicle.
